News Summary: Judge OKs deal on e-book pricing

TURNING THE PAGE: U.S. District Judge Denise Cote approved a Justice Department settlement with three electronic book publishers accused of engaging in a price-fixing scheme with Apple Inc., and the iPad maker's late CEO, Steve Jobs.

THE TERMS: The ruling released in New York Thursday ratifies an agreement reached nearly five months ago. The deal requires the publishers - Hachette, HarperCollins and Simon & Schuster - to scrap a pricing system conceived with Apple before the iPad's release in 2010.

STILL TO COME: Apple and two other publishers plan to fight the Justice Department's allegations in a June 2013 trial.
